Newly Released Interview With James Biden Shows Attempts by Bidens to Sell US Energy Assets to China

A newly released memorandum of the interview between James Biden (President Joe Biden’s brother), his attorney, and several FBI and US Attorney’s office officials, has revealed that James Biden attempted to help a Chinese company purchase U.S. energy assets.

President Joe Biden’s brother told the FBI the first family – including Hunter Biden – tried unsuccessfully to help a Chinese company buy U.S. energy assets and did so believing the firm’s leader was tied directly to Communist Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to explosive new documents made public Wednesday by the House Ways and Means Committee on the eve of the first congressional impeachment inquiry hearing.

James Biden told the FBI in an interview last year about efforts by him and Hunter Biden to help the CEFC energy firm in China buy a liquid natural gas facility on Monkey Island off the coast of Louisiana, and that he personally met once with the company’s chairman, Ye Jianming, according to the FBI interview report released by the committee.

“James B noted (Hunter) portrayed CEFC to him as Chairman Ye was a protégé of President Xi,” FBI agents wrote in the report.

This comes, of course, on the eve of the first impeachment inquiry hearings. The entire interview with James Biden can be seen here.

Georgia Republican Representative Austin Scott described James Biden’s activities as “treasonous.”

Upon the revelations, Georgia Republican Rep. Austin Scott deemed such activities treasonous, expressing that sentiment on the “John Solomon Reports” podcast on Wednesday.

“It just means it’s even worse than even I thought it was that they would go that far. If you look at some of those ports in Louisiana, and I don’t have a map in front of me, but like Port Fourchon, that area of Louisiana, just a tremendous portion of the energy that we use inside the United States come comes through those hubs,” he said.

“And the idea that you would help the Chinese acquire assets in that area to give, you know, an adversary… the ability to control the energy supply inside the United States… I don’t understand how much more of a traitor you could be than to do such a thing,” Scott added.

China is, perhaps, not an actual enemy of the United States — and treason is defined by the Constitution in Article III, Section 3, as follows:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.

China is, however, unarguably a rival of the United States.

This report also blows another hole in the story that Joe Biden “knew nothing” of his brother’s and son’s business dealings:

The bombshell revelation further contradicts President Biden’s claim dating to the 2020 election that his family made no money from China. It was released as part of a cache of documents turned over to the committee by FBI whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler.

My colleague Nick Arama recently documented more details about how the American legacy media has already slammed the throttle up to Spin Factor Eight to cover for the Biden Administration, but as another colleague, Bonchie, points out, the embarrassing details just keep showing up.

There is, as I’ve said before, an awful lot of smoke here for there not to be a fire someplace, and we can hope that the House impeachment inquiry will continue to press for details. Of course, any impeachment, should it be successful in the House, will die a certain death in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

But sometimes, a thing isn’t worth doing because it stands a good chance of success. Sometimes, a thing is worth doing because it’s the right thing to do. The House impeachment inquiry, clearly, is the right thing to do at this juncture, and if the findings of that inquiry warrant, we’ll then see for sure if the House GOP has the stones to actually implement impeachment proceedings.

It remains to be seen what will happen – but if asked, I know how I’m going to bet.

Stunner: Hunter Biden Signed off on Burisma Memo to Ukrainian Prosecutor Warning Against Investigation

The House Ways and Means Committee released a 2016 memo sent from Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, to Yuri Lutsenko, the prosecutor who replaced the previous official who had been investigating the company. Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, was serving on the company’s board of directors and signed off on the memo.

The document sheds further light on the allegations and scandals that have dogged the Biden family for years, despite their constant denials of wrongdoing.

Burisma’s memo expresses concerns about allegations made by the new prosecutor’s office related to the company’s involvement in “illegal schemes,” and requests that it drop these allegations and water down its investigations into the company.

We have learned from your press conference on July 7, 2016, that the Office of the Prosecutor General has entered Burisma’s offices and property as well as the offices and residences of various members of Burisma’s staff and directors. You also announced several allegations against Burisma and its owner. You offered no evidence of a crime in your press conference but made allegations that Burisma has been involved in “illegal schemes” that your office would be investigating over a long period of time.

The memo continues:

As citizens of countries where adherence to the rule of law has the highest priority we are very concerned about your statements and the manner in which you are proceeding with this investigation. We know you are well aware that allegations made to the media of criminal misconduct does great harm to private sector enterprises. As members of the Board of Directors, we respectfully request that allegations of criminal activity made by you and/or officials in your office cease and that any investigation be conducted consistent with the standards of fairness and the rule of law.

Devon Archer, a former Burisma board member, laid out the saga involving Hunter, Burisma, and the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s office. He explained that the company viewed the previous prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, as a threat due to his ongoing investigation into alleged corruption. Shokin’s probe applied tremendous pressure on the company, and its leadership sought to have him removed from his position. Then-Vice President Biden was instrumental in making this happen and allegedly used his office to pressure the Ukrainian government to fire Shokin, which eased the pressure on Burisma.

Other emails seem to suggest that Hunter played a prominent role in recruiting Blue Star Strategies, a government relations and public affairs consulting company, in 2015 to help Burisma “close down any cases/pursuits” against the company. They also revealed that Blue Star Strategies had ties to Lutsenko and had represented his interests in the United States while also working with Burisma.

The ongoing flow of revelations about Hunter Biden, Burisma, and President Biden has continually raised complex ethical and political questions. The president’s alleged involvement in his son’s shady foreign business dealings has resulted in the pending impeachment inquiry launched by House Republicans.
