A new general poll has revealed that former President Donald J. Trump has a double-digit lead over current President Joe Biden.

The Washington Post and ABC released a poll on Sunday. The poll revealed that if the 2024 presidential election was held today, Trump would beat Biden 52% to 42%.

Respondents attributed Biden’s poor results to his age and to his unfavorable handling of the economy and the Mexico border.

The poll sampled 1,006 adults from around the United States contacting participants by landline or through cellphone. It was conducted from September 15th until September 20th.

Once the results were released. The Washington Post was quick to call the poll an “outlier,” and referred to two previous polls it had conducted which had the two hypothetical candidates in a dead heat.

The poll is “significantly at odds with other public polls that show the general election contest a virtual dead heat,” The Washington Post wrote in its analysis.

Currently Biden’s approval rating sits at 37%. In the same poll, 44% of Americans say that they are worse off financially under the Democrat. That number is worst number that any president has received since 1986.

Meanwhile, Trump is leading in every poll to be the Republican nominee.

In a 2024 National Republican Primary Poll by NBC News released on September 24th, Trump is demolishing his competition. He has more than half of the vote when put against his GOP rivals. His closest rival is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), who has 16% of the vote to his 59%.

Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Laugh After Joe Biden Gives Bizarre Answer to Reporter Who Asked About Striking Auto Workers in Detroit (VIDEO)

Joe Biden on Monday gave a bizarre answer to a reporter asking about his upcoming trip to Detroit to speak to union auto workers on the picket line.

Biden on Monday hosted a meeting with Pacific Islands Forum leaders for the U.S.-Pacific Islands Forum Summit in the East Room. He announced new diplomatic relations with the Cook Islands and Niue so ‘counter China’s influence in the region.’

He was a mumbling disaster as he delivered remarks. Biden is completely shot.

After his remarks, Biden participated in a ‘family photo’ with the Pacific Islands Forum leaders. Biden looked like a doddering old man as he looked around confused.

Reporters hurled questions at Joe Biden during the photo op. One reporter asked Joe Biden if he had a message to striking auto workers in Detroit.

“Stay under the speed limit,” Biden said.

Pacific Islands leaders laughed at Joe Biden.

WATCH:

Last week Joe Biden reluctantly announced he is traveling to Michigan on Tuesday to speak to the autoworkers on the picket line.

Biden only decided to visit the striking autoworkers after Trump announced he would be speaking to a crowd of more than 500 current and former union members.

Trump outfoxed Joe Biden on the auto union strike.

For the first time in the history of the 150,000-member United Auto Workers Union, members went on strike against the “Big 3” manufacturers at midnight Thursday night after no deal was reached.

The “Big 3” include Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis, the newly-formed merger of Fiat Chrysler and the PSA Group.

“Key demands from the union have included 40% hourly pay increases; a reduced, 32-hour, workweek; a shift back to traditional pensions; the elimination of compensation tiers; and a restoration of cost-of-living adjustments. Other items on the table include enhanced retiree benefits and better vacation and family leave benefits,” CNBC reported.

The autoworkers are not happy with Joe Biden.

Autoworkers lashed out at “pro-union” Joe Biden on the eve of a historic United Auto Workers union strike a couple of weeks ago.

A reporter asked Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday if Joe Biden supports the striking UAW’s demands of a 40% pay increase and 32-hour work week.

KJP refused to answer the question. Joe Biden doesn’t actually care about the striking autoworkers. His visit on Tuesday is a purely political fly-by photo-op.

“This is the result of being doxxed over and over by leftist outlets. You can imagine how dangerous this is,” he said. “I’m okay, the pets are okay, and the local cops were fantastic.”

He added, “Thanks for your concern. I’ll continue to talk truth to power. I won’t stop. Love you all.”

Watchdog files open meetings lawsuit against secret panel studying Wisconsin justice's impeachment

MADISON, Wis. — A liberal watchdog group on Monday sued a secret panel investigating the criteria for impeaching a liberal Wisconsin Supreme Court justice, asking a judge to order the panel to stop meeting behind closed doors.

The panel is a government body and therefore required by state law to meet in public, attorneys for American Oversight argued in a complaint filed in Dane County Circuit Court.

Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos established the panel of three former state Supreme Court justices earlier this month as he considers taking the unprecedented step of impeaching Justice Janet Protasiewicz. He has refused to say who is on the panel.

“This complaint is without merit and shows how desperate the left is to change the subject away from the more important issue of the recusal of Justice Protasiewicz,” he said in a statement Monday.

Former Justice David Prosser, a former Republican speaker of the Assembly who backed Protasiewicz’s conservative opponents, confirmed he is on the panel. None of the eight other living former justices, six of whom are conservatives, have said they are a part of the review. Justices are officially nonpartisan in Wisconsin, but in recent years the political parties have backed certain candidates.

Two former liberal justices, Louis Butler and Janine Geske, wrote a joint column last week saying that impeachment is unjustified. Four former conservative justices – Jon Wilcox, Dan Kelly, 7th U.S. Circuit Court Chief Judge Diane Sykes and Louis Ceci – told The Associated Press they were not asked.

Vos has said another former conservative justice, Michael Gableman, is not on the panel. Vos hired, and then fired, Gableman to review the results of the 2020 election. Gableman has pushed conspiracy theories related to former President Donald Trump’s loss in Wisconsin.

The most recently retired justice, conservative Patience Roggensack, declined to comment to the AP when asked if she was on the panel. She did not immediately return a message seeking comment on Monday.

Prosser, when reached Monday, said “I’m not speaking to you” before hanging up.

“Threatening to remove an elected Supreme Court justice for partisan political gain is fundamentally anti-democratic, and to make matters worse, Speaker Vos is making his plans in secret,” Heather Sawyer, American Oversight’s executive director, said in a statement.

Protasiewicz’s installment in August flipped the high court to liberal control for the first time in 15 years. Comments she made on the campaign trail calling the state’s heavily gerrymandered, GOP-drawn electoral maps “unfair” and “rigged,” as well as the nearly $10 million she accepted from the Wisconsin Democratic Party, have angered Republicans and boosted hopes among Democrats for favorable rulings on redistricting and abortion.

Protasiewicz has yet to decide whether she will recuse herself from a redistricting case pending before the court, even as GOP lawmakers call for her recusal and threaten impeachment. It is up to each justice to decide whether to recuse from a case.

Catch, release, murder: HHS withholds answers on suspected MS-13 migrant charged with slaying woman

Top Republicans said the Health and Human Services Department is withholding from Congress a report on its handling of an illegal immigrant juvenile who was caught and released and now stands accused of a shocking murder of a 20-year-old autistic girl in Maryland.

Kayla Hamilton’s slaying last summer shook the immigration debate. HHS conducted an audit of its approach to the then-17-year-old migrant charged with the homicide, and in June the department promised the House Judiciary Committee it would provide the audit.

Months later, Congress says it’s still waiting.

Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan and Rep. Tom McClintock, chairman of the immigration subcommittee, said the department is also withholding information on the worst abusers of the Unaccompanied Alien Child program.

“In the three months since the briefing, the Committee has reiterated its requests numerous times. To date, HHS has not provided the requested audit or the information, and has declined to even respond to the Committee’s requests,” the lawmakers wrote in a new demand for cooperation from Secretary Xavier Becerra. The Washington Times obtained a copy of the letter.

The name of the murder suspect has not been released, but his case suggested serious lapses in the government’s handling of UACs.

According to the Judiciary Committee’s investigation, the migrant had been arrested in El Salvador for associating with MS-13 and had gang tattoos. He was arrested in the U.S. on March 23, 2022, and labeled a UAC, meaning he’d show up at the border without a parent.

Under U.S. law and policy, Homeland Security turned him over to HHS, which then sought out his aunt in Frederick, Maryland, and released him to her as his sponsor. Hamilton was found dead in her apartment in Aberdeen, Maryland, on July 27. Authorities said she had been sexually assaulted and then strangled.

Tammy Nobles, Hamilton’s mother, said her daughter tried to phone her boyfriend during the attack but the call went to voicemail. The result is a two-minute, 30-second recording of the murder. When the boyfriend returned to the apartment he found a phone charger wrapped so tightly around Hamilton’s neck that he had to use his teeth to get it off, Ms. Nobles testified to Congress in May.

“If we had stricter border policies, my daughter would be alive today,” she said. “I am her voice now, and I am going to fight with everything I have to get her story told.”

The murder suspect was one of 14,137 UACs caught entering the U.S. in March 2022. He told authorities he paid $4,000 to a guide who smuggled him over the border, and he claimed he was fleeing gang violence.

Judiciary Committee investigators said the government missed his MS-13 ties during their screening. It was only after he emerged as a suspect in Hamilton’s murder that those became known. All it took was contacting El Salvadoran officials, the committee said, hinting that HHS and Homeland Security skipped that step.

The Times has reached out to HHS for comment for this story.

In HHS case files the department’s employees said the boy had “no behavioral issues” and “demonstrated good judgment and age-appropriate behaviors.” Those assurances rang hollow after the murder, the Judiciary Committee said in a report in May.

More than 400,000 UACs have been detected streaming into the U.S. since February 2020, or just after President Biden took office, and after a dip early this year their numbers surged again in August to more than 14,000 in that month alone.

They are the toughest cases in the immigration debate, combining the truly desperate and needy with some bad actors — including some adult gang members who pose as children to try to earn a quick catch-and-release.

The Biden administration has reduced the checks performed on UACs before they are released to sponsors, leading to more reports of abuse. The New York Times, in a series of stories, said tens of thousands of migrant children have been sent into forced labor.

Experts blame the relaxed checks for allowing children to disappear into communities with no substantive follow-up.

HHS’s inspector general, in a report last year, found cases in which “many children” were sent to a single address.

“The system doesn’t trigger a notification that one person may be sponsoring 15 kids at the same apartment complex, or in the same unit,” one case manager told the inspector general.

Mr. Jordan, Ohio Republican, and Mr. McClintock, California Republican, demanded HHS provide data on the worst abuser of that system. They said that, like the audit on the murder suspect migrant, has been withheld so far.

Study finds online marijuana dispensaries fail to block minors

Underage drug users are finding it easier to buy marijuana online as more states legalize recreational pot, a new study shows.

An analysis of 80 online cannabis dispensaries in 32 states found that most lacked adequate age verification features and accepted nontraceable payment methods, enabling minors to hide their transactions. Three researchers published the findings Monday in JAMA Pediatrics.

The study also noted that 1 in 5 online dispensaries required no formal age verification at any stage of the purchasing process for marijuana edibles, e-cigarettes and medical formulas. In most of the states, buyers must be at least 18 to buy medical marijuana and 21 to purchase recreational cannabis.

Researchers cited the growing legalization of marijuana for expanding the market and “potentially increasing its access by children,” even across state lines.

“We believe that there is danger in allowing minors to purchase marijuana online with few protective barriers in place,” Dr. Ruth L. Milanaik, a co-author of the study and developmental-behavioral pediatrician at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, told The Washington Times.

The study pointed to a 2022 National Institutes of Health survey that found 6.3% of 12th graders, 2.1% of 10th graders and 0.7% of 8th graders reported using marijuana daily over the past 30 days.

Dr. Milanaik said the study adds marijuana to earlier research showing similar loopholes in underage access to alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco vapes sold online.

She noted that the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry lists several health and developmental risks for underage marijuana use — including memory and concentration problems, mental health issues and an increased risk of experimenting with other addictive substances.

According to the study, 67 of the 80 online marijuana dispensaries (83.8%) accepted nontraceable payment methods such as cash, prepaid cards and cryptocurrency.

Just 34 websites (42.5%) offered any warnings or disclaimers about the safety of purchasing or using marijuana, and only half required a government-issued ID at some point before, during or after purchase.

Researchers said most of the 54 dispensaries listing online sales policies for minors required visitors to click “yes” to confirm they were of legal age, only three required a birth date and none demanded “verified age documentation” to log on.

Texas Walmart shooter agrees to pay more than $5M to families over 2019 racist attack

AUSTIN, Texas — A white Texas gunman who killed 23 people at a Walmart in 2019 after ranting about Hispanics taking over the government and economy has agreed to pay more than $5 million to victims of the racist attack, according to an order signed by a judge Monday.

Patrick Crusius was sentenced to 90 consecutive life sentences in July after pleading guilty to federal hate crime charges following one of the nation’s worst mass killings. Court records show his attorneys and the Justice Department reached an agreement over the restitution amount, which was then approved by U.S. District Judge David Guaderrama.

There is no indication Crusius, 25, has significant assets. He was 21 years old and had dropped out of community college when police say he drove more than 700 miles from his home near Dallas to target Hispanics with an AK-style rifle inside and outside the store. Moments before the attack began, Crusius posted a racist screed online that warned of a Hispanic “invasion” of Texas.

He once worked at a movie theater, a job that his attorneys have said Crusius was forced to leave because he was having violent thoughts.

Crusius pleaded guilty in February after federal prosecutors took the death penalty off the table. But Texas prosecutors have said they will try to put Crusius on death row when he stands trial in state court. That trial date has not yet been set.

Under the agreement between the gunman and the government, Crusius will pay $5,557,005.55, according to court filings.

Joe Spencer, an attorney for Crusius, and a spokesperson for the Justice Department did not immediately return messages Monday.

In January, the Justice Department proposed changes to how it runs federal prisoners’ deposit accounts in an effort to ensure victims are paid restitution, including from some high-profile inmates with large balances. The move came as the Justice Department faced increased scrutiny after revelations that several high-profile inmates kept large sums of money in their prison accounts but only made minimal payments to their victims.

The 2019 attack was the deadliest of a dozen mass shootings in the U.S. linked to hate crimes since 2006, according to a database compiled by The Associated Press, USA Today and Northeastern University.

Before the shooting, Crusius had appeared consumed by the nation’s immigration debate, tweeting #BuildtheWall and other social media posts that praised then-President Donald Trump’s hardline border policies. Crusius went further in his rant posted before the attack, sounding warnings that Hispanics were going to take over the government and economy.
